about me
Hello! I'm Keiko and welcome to my blog. I've been making photos for my entire working career, 12 plus years now. I come from a family of photographers and apprenticed under my father. I started off in a studio doing commercial still-life photography and learned tons but soon realized how I want to be photographing real life not still life.
I shot weddings for a few years and loved so many things about it, especially the attention to detail and eye for design my clients had. I also learned a lot about the beauty of natural light and portraiture.
My career has kind of taken a turn back to still life.... in a way. I've been photographing newborns and babies for 3 years and I'm loving it. Newborns are very similar to still life and I feel like I've merged all of my past and more recent experience in that way. I've taken newborn and baby photography to a fine art level.
My work is simple, clean and timeless. I use props that don't take away from the star of the show- your baby! I use earth tones, colors found in nature. Babies are naked 99% of time in my work and in my opinion natural colors lend well to a babies natural state. I like using different textures and layers of fabric to create framing and interest too.
I would be honored to make lasting memories for you.
Hang out awhile and check out some of what I have to offer.
